Reminder
Hello all!
1) If you are currently in Vet 107, Vet 123, Vet 117 or Vet 265 PLEASE be mindful of the fact that completion of certain PODs hours is a pass/fail component of your course. That means that even if you finish your class numerically speaking with an A after the final exam, you will still not pass it if your PODs remain incomplete.
2) Please visit the PODs website regularly to check out any announcements, print off your forms and find approved sites in each category. If you do not find answers to your questions there, you can e-mail our PODs team. You will find a link on the PODs site.
go to 'Areas of Study'
go to 'Veterinary Technology'
go to 'Vet Tech Pods'
*Vet 107: 20 hours non-profit
*Vet 123: 20 hours small animal
Vet 117: LAST 20 hours small animal, [meaning you will have completed all 40 hours of small animal by the end of Vet 117]
Vet 265: 20 hours large animal
* For the few of you who are currently in your first quarter, AND in both Vet 107 and Vet 123, you only have to do 20 NON-PROFIT HOURS of PODs this quarter. Those hours will allow you to pass both courses. PLEASE do move forward as much as you can with your 20 hours small animal this quarter, and be diligent about spacing them out so that you don't put yourself in the position of having to frantically do all 40 small animal during your Vet 117 quarter!
Thank you all - please let us know if you have any questions,
New Quarter
Welcome to a new Quarter of school and PODS- Be sure to start early on all your PODS hours!!

GREAT FEEDBACK FROM RESCUE VILLAGE EXPERIENCE!!!
I just wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Lisa Ishee, the volunteer coordinator at the Geauga Humane Society - Rescue Village. She has made my first PODS experience unforgettable. She is extremely knowledgable about what Stautzenberger students need to accomplish and is willing to work with you to get all that you want out of your experience there. All of the staff and volunteers treat you as if you are one of them, almost like family. I really love helping out there and will continue to do so even after all my PODS hours are complete.

THEY NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
Imagine, 300 dogs and cats adopted in 24 hours …
Imagine, different animal welfare agencies together under big tents working as one …
Imagine, the life-saving …
Imagine, the message this will send …
Rescue Village is determined to take part, but we can’t imagine succeeding without your help …
On Friday and Saturday, September 7-8, Rescue Village is going on the road with over 50 of our animals! We are joining efforts with PetSmart, the Cleveland APL and many other area rescue groups for an Around-the-Clock, 24-hr. adoption event at Parma Town Mall -- the goal of the event is to get at least 300 animals adopted in 24 hours and we are up for the challenge! So many other animals out there need our help to get them off the streets and into loving homes – so we’re hoping to make space for them by adopting many of our current residents out at this MEGA event.
These mega adoption events are gaining in popularity by both rescue groups and the public and have proven to be very successful in meeting adoption goals and getting noticed by the public, so we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to be included.
We are looking for transporters, animal care attendants and enthusiastic friends or family to come out and help at the event. See the attached pdf for a shift breakdown and areas we need help with. We are looking for approximately 10 people per shift. Animal care attendants will show and care for the animals and the floater/escort will help to ensure the adoption paperwork gets properly filed with PetSmart, that the patrons are well taken care of during their visit to our booth, and that volunteers get breaks when needed.
Volunteers for this event will need to be flexible with us as we work out the schedule and details for this major event. We are truly excited to be a part of this and you will start seeing the press for it soon!
Don’t wait ~ let me know how you can help and sign up today!!

Great Review from Stone Pillar- Looking for Lg Animal Hours?!?!
"Had a couple of your students out to do their POD hours with the horses. They were so much help and we had a nice time playing with the "kids". They each had one to take care of and also helped me feed and bring them in for dinner, etc. It was a pleasure to have them. "
